Shows, Radio Interview… and why you won’t find “Be Inspired” on Streaming services

The Spring is finally here, or almost…!
A few things I have shared on social media…

First, a fun radio interview:

I participated to the Writer’s Room Showcase a few weeks ago and it was a lot of fun. There is a short video clip on Instagram and Twitter right here

I enjoyed performing at RARBar last week and here are a few pics!

Finally, if you have not seen it yet, the 7 min short Track by Trtac k documentary is on Youtube. It is in 10 parts and now each video is also being posted on Youtube every week into a playlist, as well as each song preview! Thank you for supporting Independent and local music creators!!!

If you follow me on Instagram and Twitter you must have seen that I expressed a bit of Anger about Spotify… Here is a “Polite” version…

This is in dollar! Spotify Google Pandora and Amazon are making appeal to the Court’s order (from the Music Modernization Act that we fought to get establised) so they don’t have to increase songwriters rates! Now I’m not saying Tidal and Napster have the best rates I’m sorry that still does not make it! Spotify is a liar, for example, their Upload Beta does not exist! I was fighting with them in December, I thought that MAYBE I could have a Live song or interview or special unplugged stuff or even a Single (but not a Full album at that rate!) and No this Upload Beta does not even exist, it’s all PR. They want to make people believe they do something for the artists and the Major Labels are on their side because they have separate deals, advances, stocks opportunities with them and so they think they need as many subscribers as possible! Why do you think that 99% of streams are only Major Labels and that people ended up getting the new Drake song everywhere even on their Yoga/Spa playlists? The Indies we get NOTHING! So there until then you don’t get the recent LiLi Roquelin catalog you get only the very old stuff and 1 song! And No I will not tell my listeners to subscribe to your platform to listen to my music! IF MY FANS WANT MY RECORD THEN THEY BUY THE AUTOGRAPHED CD OR POSTCARD!
This was just another proof that I am right to leave only a very limited old catalog of my music on Spotify until they decide to PAY us more! I boycott streaming services until then. The music modernization act is working for us and the corporations still want to keep taking advantage of songwriters. I HAVE BEEN SAYING NO, AND I’M NOT THE ONLY ONE. Many of my followers commented to my posts that they had no idea how much the streaming business  was trying to screw us and others posted they were canceling their subscription.

Article on NPR explains the best how I feel about the current status of the streaming business for indie artists and for the future of music:
